Opportunity for Security Analyst II

This individual will provide day-to-day operations support for IT security services. The primary focus areas are threat and vulnerability management, and monitoring.

Specific areas of focus will include:

• Administration of vulnerability and compliance scanning tools remediation activities uncovered in the scanning process. This position will use Qualys services and tools for vulnerability and compliance scanning. 
• Administration and support for Symantec Endpoint protection services. This individual will manage the hosted services and client components required to protect against viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, bots, zero-day threats and root kits.
• Administration and support of security components providing Internet proxy services. These services are provided through the implementation of Microsoft Threat Management Gateway (ISA 2006). 
• Provide support for user, equipment and security service migrations.
• Perform analysis on security related issues as the arise  

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles
• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods and technologies
• Proficiency in performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments
• Strong analytical skills, to analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls
• Certifications from one of the following; SSCP, GIAC, and/or ITIL a plus

 
Technology Requirements:

• Excellent technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems (for example, Microsoft Windows, IBM AIX and Linux) and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, identity and access management (IAM) systems, anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance and desktop security tools
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and associated network protocols and concepts
• Experience working with Qualys Vulnerability and Compliance scanning services, Symantec Endpoint Protection software and Microsoft Proxy Services or equivalent functional tools
